The Sawmill is one of the first buildings you build and is an important facility that produces Lumber that is used as construction material for many other facilities. Wooden sticks are also used as building materials and as materials for tools. Since the production rate of sawmills is not very fast compared to the demand for lumber and wooden sticks, it is a good idea to build two from the beginning. If you have 30 ratizens in your city, 3-4 of them will work in the sawmill.
